Is SpongeBob SquarePants Bad for Children?
By RONI CARYN RABIN Basically it says that children who follow the adventures of this yellow sponge — did worse on tests of attention and problem-solving than young children who watched a slower-paced educational program or spent time drawing. A professor of psychology said there were alot of things happening that were fantasy and did not happen in real life.....isnt that what childhood is about? How many of us grew up with fantasy....like the tooth fairy and Santa Claus.....did it slow us down intellectually. While I dont believe in excessive TV .... I think a controlled amount of TV can be watched by children as long as it is monitored. You cant blame violence in cartoons for everything....I grew up with Tom and Jerry....and the Road Runner......does anyone remember them?Read the article and let me know if you agree or disagree.....personally I love Spongebob...
