When I retired I knew that my life would change. Not only the obvious changes - like not having to get up in the morning to go to work, not having the stress of deadlines, not traveling to work in the bad weather (even though I live about 20 minutes away) and certainly not dreading Monday mornings.
So now I get up - whenever - have breakfast and relax - do whatever needs to be done, at my pace in the time I allot for it.
And every once in awhile I get a call to come join some of my old friends from work and just chat, eat and drink the night away. Tonight was one of those days. Seeing old friends and being able to talk to everyone and catch up of the latest happenings. Since I retired I have missed everyone but am happy when we can get together. Tonight was a celebration of another friend's retirement.
We were able to talk and remember old time; talk about the future and look forward to more good times and gatherings.

Sounds like fun! How neat that someone else gets to retire! It's nice that you still keep in contact with people from work. Several of the retired teachers do the same thing.
