I read this book for a book club and while it was out of my usual genre, I really enjoyed it. It takes place in Iran as we following the lives of Ellie and Homa. Childhood friends who lived very different lives. Circumstances change how our lives proceed and while they tried to keep in touch, each one battled their own upbringing and values. Just as they pursue their own goals, turmoil breaks out in Iran with consequences that change both their lives.
Amazing story of very strong women in a country that could either destroy you or shape you into a courageous lioness....
