Avengers Forever

Exactly what super heroes are your children into?  I know my grandsons are forever changing their mind....one day its Batman, then its Superman....can't really keep up.  But I do know that whatever it is I am there buying the DVD, Plush or blanket for them.  That's what grandmas do.  Maybe they are into Iron Man, Captain America.....you see them on TV; in the movies, on cable and your children love them.  Now that they are going back to school what better way to make their dreams come true but to get them a great hooded sweatshirt of Captain America or ..a plush of Iron Man

Anything more depressing?

..........than applying for Medicare?  That is what my parents do or did.....when did I come to the age where I get a letter in the mail that says "Have you applied yet/"  So, I guess i have to...but the letter said I can apply different ways......mail, internet or talk to a real live person.  I opted for the last, and got the nicest lady that explained everything to me.....actually alot I knew about because hubby has gone through it already, and explained it to me.....

 

So after about a half hour or so, this nice lady at Medicare puts me through Social Security who goes through more with me....and now I await my card.....which says - yes, you will be 65 years old....but I cant remember when that happened.  It was only yesterday i was changing diapers.....my children's not my grandchildrens.....

so I must admit I am at THAT AGE.....but will not admit I feel THAT AGE.  I am still working, am relatively healthy.....had a few close calls......but everyday I wake up is another great day and instead of lamenting about age, I will be thankful for the years i have lived, the children i have raised, the husband who still cherishes me......and the grandchildren I have been blessed with.....

Life is good....and it all depends on how you look at it.....have a great day!!

Goodreads Book......

I like giveaways.....and I try to enter as many as I can....Well, Goodreads.com has a continuous giveaway for books....by so many authors, by Goodreads authors.  I have found many a great author on the site.

I enter so many giveaways that I was pleasantly surprised by the email I received recently that said I won a book....I would have told you sooner but Blogger was down and out......

The book called......The Solacers by Arion Golmakani (check out his blog here) and he tells us that...

Beyblades

Not everyone knows what they are!

Do you?  If not, here's a hint - you must have or know a male child between the age of 5 and 10.....

They look like this   ............the thingy on the left is the mechanism that spins the thingy on the right.....there is also a stadium where two thingys spin against each other and the last one standing is the winner.....

And for those of you my age....it is kind of like the tops we used to play with......just different.....

Time goes by......

How many things are in your house that bring back memories.  When I decorated my kitchen a few years ago, I found some plates that were made by my children when they were in Kindergarten.  I recently took a look at them again and since they are marked with the year......I just sat there staring at them....wondering where did the time go?

I have them hanging on a plate hanger....in the corner of my kitchen.....these were handmade by three of my children....the first two had the same kindergarten teacher but she did not do this project when they were with her.....
